flowmaster help?

flowmaster help?

i just installed the flowmaster 40 series and its not that loud how can i make it louder? do i have to wait till it breaks in or do i need to remove the cat? people been telling me to put a intake, high flow cat, headers, and bigger pipping. i am running a 2.5 pipping now and am so confused what to do. can anybody help me out thanks i am new to this kind of stuff.

flowmasters don't break in. there is no packing in them so there is nothing really that will ever change. what motor is it?

On my 22re, I initially put a 50 series on and it almost sounded like a diesel tractor because there was no resonator after the muffler. I chopped it off and put the 40 series on and it worked, but I don't like for people to hear me coming. Nice deep low sound, but not obnoxicious.

Try putting a resonator on after the muffler...?

smaller pipes and a different muffler. OR just remove the cat..

I put dual flowmasters on my chevy and thought the same way as you. Not loud enough...I'm now looking at "Race Mufflers". Dynomax...(I think) makes one called bullets. There mufflers only reduce the sound by 3-4 decibles. Just FYI. Heres the LINK

change the dual to a single pipe or dual small pipes, she will be loud!!!
