Flopped!!!

well i we've been gettin a bunch of snow lately, had about 7inches this day, and i got off work at 7am that mornin. i went home and waited fro the bank to open to put my pay check in, and i went to the bank. on the way home i was takin a shortcut through a subdivision and this old man was in the middle of the road so i tried to scoot over for him since he wadn. my back tire slid off the bank and fell into a drain and over i went! the man never even stopped. i wasn't hurt at all, i was only goin about 15MPH. tow truck winched me back over, only damage was a smashed in fender. didn't even break my mirror off. the sliders saved a lot i believe. let it sit for a minute, fired it up and been drivin it since. mechically fine, but its hard to keep it on the road now. i was in 4WD when it happened, and now in 4WD i get a little dshaft vibrations. and it steers horribly. dunno if it knocked it out of line or what

damage, can t really tell from the pics

the old man may have not even known i did wreck, he looked to be 70ish. pray he doesn't cause this to happen to anyone else as it could have been a lot worse

be careful drivin in that snow man, some of the craziest things happen at the most unexpected times.

i watched a buddy of mine roll his trail truck making a turn goin about 5mph...anything is possible.

glad to hear you're okay though!!!! and the truck wasn't hurt too bad!

sounds like you're bent something up front though.

yea i dont think the ole fart even seen me comin toward him. i think what messed my steerin up is the way the tires are turned. if youll look at the pics, my drivers side tire is turned more bc the pass side is on the ground. just noticed that.

Thats weird... I see your tracks in the snow, were you still driving on the road or were you off the road? And is there is a drainage channel or something that your tire got caught in?

Might seem like dumb questions, but I live in a different country lol.

dang man. I almost did that once when a smaller vehicle spin out in front of me. Have to step the gas twice to get it stop. So have you got your steering rod replace under the toyota recall yet? I think it was the 50n recall. If you haven't so then it is your chance to get it replace for free and that may fix the steering problem... Good Luck to you and be safe.

I was in an accident where my front left tire hit the back of a Corolla and knocked the tire way out of alignment. My steering felt like a wet piece of bread afterward. I visually checked all the steering linkages, got it aligned, and it has been fine since.

You probably just tweaked one of the links or rods on our aluminum can material steering set up. That's crazy you didnt do more damage than that!

nice! no damage! i bet the snow cushioned your landing... i almost did this yesterday driftin the yota, i spun a 180 and went into a drainage ditch. i tipped up on 2 tires when i landed in it but there was an embankment that i leaned into so it couldnt flop all the way! locked it in and pulled her out no problem. got one good scratch and my mirror just folded over!
