In my '89, I fit two 10's behind the seat, one on each side. I think I lost one click on the seat adjustment, so if you're tall, that could be a problem.

The front of the box was wood, the sides were cut to match the back of the cab and then installed and then fiberglassed to the cab. The 'glass went across the back, basically reinforcing and sealing the back of the cab as the box.

Later I got rid of that and did one JL8W6 in the dash (below the radio in front of the shifter).

One 10 behind each side of the bench seat, down as low as I could get them at an angle that matched the seat back. The amps were right above them ... wish I had some pictures of that install, it was quite sweet.

ah the ol subs in a regular cab.
I had an 86 reg cab, bought a big a$$ box cause i was so excited to get my subs, it fit 2 tens and took most of my leg room away.
you can do it with a couple of those single boxes, thats what i would do now at least.
2 kicker tens, perfect.

Just get some real thin subs and put them behind the seat, and put the amp under a seat. Build your own box for maximum utiliization of space. It's pretty easy to make a good box out of MDF, just make sure it's the right volume for the subs. I also recommend using nails and glue to hold it together, screws make it split pretty bad.

Having them there really amplifies the effect too.

Bazooka Tubes. I ran a 4 inch in my nissan standard cab for years. It will not shake body panels loose like my JL system will, but it rattles the rear view mirror and sounded really good. Oh and its cheap

I had a Chevy S10 pickup (lowrider) with 2 10's behind the seat in a box I made. The amp was in the lower center of the box and the EQ was in the upper center. Component set in the doors. Center channel in dash.

That truck sounded good. All I had to do was get it painted and it was done. An old guy driving a station wagon came around a turn, hit a puddle of water and hydroplaned into me, totaling my truck I was stopped at a light

Have a look on http://www.the12volt.com/Default.asp?

I'll post some pics if I could find them.

Bazooka's are the best for Toyota's in my opinion. i have run JBL, and Alpine and kicker and many others and so far the best performance and fit/space saver is my 8" Bazooka Tube. their small, fit very nicely behind a seat in a reg cab (had mine in my old Isuzu reg cab before my 4Runner) and i still had tons of free space for other stuff behind the seat.

As for an amp...i had mine in the seat (i took the fabric off and stuck it in their) or maybe put it in the front somewhere, like maybe behind the glove box or somwhere around there.

I got a powered 8" sub made by Boss. It was like $100. I'm 6'6" so I need the whole cab but that thing fit behind the seat with the seat all the way back. It's not real boomy but it adds nicely to the little 4.5s or whatever in the dash.

oh, its 2wd ?
my bad, well pics will still be kool.
ha, i had an 86 long bed with a shell on the back, somehow the beige color made my friends call it a banana, then later turned into the beenan.
it was a "one ton" with 80k on a crate motor cause the first one got hydrolocked.
I decided to total it, not really decided.
But it happened.
But the motor is going into my 91 so its all good

Or if you don't want to mess with the amp the powered version works well.
