I believe he was refrencing my post, not anything you did.

I would take you old starter up to the parts store to get it tested first, to make sure it's just the starter. I hate to say it, but try not to get too excited about it just being the starter, because you don't know for sure yet.

Well that was useless....

I got the old on out (literally in 20 minutes) and took it to get it tested. It tested fine. So I put it back in. Wow it works *clank*. F me. I'll post a video of it. It almost sounds like a chunk of the flywheel is missing. At least I hope.

Man I hate this. It's not like I can go to my parents, they have less money than I do .

Sounds like a broken or very bent rod to me. Do a compresson test see what that gets you.

My bets are on broken rod.

sheet.

Ok well lets say it is a rod.

Finance wise, what wold he best option be?

Should I rebuild to 3.0? or by a remaned 3.0? or should I just part it out, and hope that I get enough to get a different vehicle (we no longer have 4 cars, so I have no DD). I paid $4,500 for it.

BBBBBUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMPPPPP!!!

you wont get enough to buy another truck if you part it out. buy a reman short block, throw it in and be on the road again.
