I just looked over the 1985 fsm and I did not see where it explains how to do this. There was no 1986 manual. Have you done this before. How do I do it?

the wire should be near where you check for the engine codes...look around in that area in the driver's fender side

Solenoid kit on EBay!

Hey, I just found a kit new on EBay with all the solenoids, a new filter and gasket for under $100. I have the exact same problem and intermittently it works fine but half the time it has no first. Still waiting for delivery. I did the TPS already and it improved the idle but didn't help the shifting. Here is the link
