Finding a Solid front axle

Anyone have a connection in getting a toyota solid front axle in Texas? Or those of you who have them, where did you get them from? I seams like the only ones I can find are at least a few states away.

Put your own ad up on craigs list saying you want to buy one, and give your price. Thats how I got mine. The first hour of putting it up, I had 3 sellers.

Local salvage... look through the piles of old axles and housing they sometimes have in their forgotten back corners.

I found mine at a Toyota only yard but paid a premium for it. Have found others since.

Hard part is determining if the housing is straight. Can't really tell until it's all put together.

Keep in mind that if it doesn't come with locking hubs, inner axles, birfields or knuckles that will start to add up.

Might just give you an excuse to buy some of those TG Six Shooter knuckles and some 30 spline longs.

95 good luck! I am from Texas too and I am having the hardest time find a SFA. I did find one in Austin (2-3) hours away but it seemed to be in bad condition.

www.car-parts.com
Craigslist
All surrounding junk yards

they were all duds! I could only find one in the state of texas. I dont know what area of texas you are from. But around here they are so hard to find because the Mexicans come up from mexico and buy up all of the toyota trucks and suvs and other small foreign trucks and drive them back to Mexico. So you may have to look out of state. Sorry dude. But if you do find one let me know because like I said I am having a hard time finding one myself.

Yeah, I've been lookin all over. Found a decent one here in San Antonio, but they wanted $300. Think I can find a little better... I can give you the # for the guy if you're ever in SATX.

Sfa

If you are still looking in the fall give me a PM. I have one here in Oklahoma. 85 from an old farmers rainy day truck. It will need to be reworked as it has been setting for several years. I'll make you a great deal.

The reason I say the fall is because my neighbor works in the Houston area at the refineries and he won't be going back there until after the summer is over to ease delivery.
