Finally got the balls to paint my rims

Well, I had a really good weekend project, I painted all my rims black. I saw Cristians video in the writeups section, and I thought I just had to do it. I have recieved so many comments on them recently!! The only thing is, it makes the rest of my truck look like crap!! hahaha

Oh and sorry for the poser pics...lol thats just how I parked today!!

Here are some pics:

Heres what they used to look like:

I think it looks great. Painting my rims is usually the first thing i do on any thing i buy. Ouch those pink and blue stripes have to go though

Thanks, these rims look really good black.

I know about the stripes, I just dont have the money to paint my truck yet, because the whole truck needs a paint job!

I used duplicolor high heat everything: Primer, Paint, and Clearcoat, and I followed Cristians directions exactly!

Doesn't cost hardly anything at all to remove the stripes. You spent more on paint then you would on a pin stripe removal wheel.

They are actually painted on, the pressure washer at the car wash will make them come off though!

I think those are really nice. Its a definate improvement over he rough look of the rims before you painted them.

I think the black would set off your 4runner. It would go alomg with the black alomg the rocker panel very nicely. I say give it a go ... paint or powdercoat.

Thanks everyone, I did paint them with the tires on, I just used some blue painters tape, the 2in and the 1/2in,I taped off over my rimguard on my tires, and didnt even worry about the part of the tire that touches the rim (you know by the bead below the rimguard), you cant tell a thing! I also used newspaper to cover the rest of the tire, and it worked great. I have gotten so many comments on them today at school!!

Just remember to keep some extra cans around when you see a new "rash" mark from wheeling. A quik touchup and you'll be on your way. :-)
