Finally got the balls to paint my rims
#24
Old trick I've used to get old painted on lettering off on big trucks is "easy-off oven cleaner" Just spray it on, let it set for a few mins. and used the pressure washer. Never know it was there except some paint will not be faded where the lettering was.
Rims look good by the way.
I did mine with "Rustoleum Hammered Black". Looks kind of neat. Looks like you took the ball end of a hammer to them. I sprayed the tires with some of that tire shine stuff so the paint wouldn't stick to them. Alot less work then taping.

Well, I had a really good weekend project, I painted all my rims black. I saw Cristians video in the writeups section, and I thought I just had to do it. I have recieved so many comments on them recently!! The only thing is, it makes the rest of my truck look like crap!! hahaha

Looks great! I get compliments all the time on my rims. It is cool also being able to touch them up easy. Next time you get tires, white letters inside, and it will look even better.

Thanks everyone, for the compliments.
No I did not do the inside, because you dont see it when you look at the truck, kind-of a waste of time. I somewhat like the white lettering on the tires, gives it depth.
I am going to try that oven stuff. If you look at my rig, look at the tailgate...thats the worst spot!!
I was also thinking of doing the rockers in hurculiner, that would also solve the problem...hahah!!!

I want to turn them around now, but I just dont feel like doing it...hahah, I would have to take it to a shop to get it done, and that would cost money, I am just going to drive like this untill I get new tires (super swamper TSL radials)!!

Ugly stickers help
I took the stickers off my 89 pickup with a heat gun, torch, WD-40, and a couple cheap plastic scrapers from Walmart, and a little patience. Turned out good. Here is a link to some pictures of my truck; https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/besttop-supertop-pickup-looks-sweet-107572/
