To fan or not to fan?

I am considering installing an electric fan assy on my 93 4-runner 3v, is this logical for a daily commuter or is this more an off road application , any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's really your call. It's not going to gain you anything that can be felt. I can say that my factory clutch fan keeps my 3.0 nice & cool with the A/C on in stop & go traffic in 110 degree temps. If yours does the same then why change it? I did the e-fan thing on a Yota years ago & wouldn't do it again unless I were to use a real e-fan like the Taurus fan or similar. Those parts store ones are junk!

do the fan swap!!!!
i have done fan swaps on many 4runners and believe me you will see the diference as soon as you turn the engine on.
logic make sense
fan clutch drag power from engine
e fan not it only draws amps

fan clutch acts like a semi engine brake it keeps revs up until it disengage
e fan not
engine reach normal temp faster
fan clutch not
with the e fan the engine rev up faster you will feel it!!!!
with e fan you get rid of weight in mass movement,so it will free up some hp
so waht are you waiting for?
check my post
mercury villager electric fan swap
better than the taurus and cheaper even new!!!!
if you need the wiring diagram let me know!!!
so the final word is yours!!!!

i'm not sure about the 3.0, but it made a HUGE difference that you CAN DEFINATELY feel with my 22re

also, now I can even sit and idle in the blazing heat of Florida with the AC on for over an hour, and the temp gauge doesn't move at all over normal operating temp, AND the AC continues to blow cold since the e-fan keeps pulling air over the condenser

that fan doesnt have shroud so it will pull minimal air,if you use one with shroud or make one from fiberglass it will pull more air.
in the 3.0 the efan swap is a must the fan clutch is as big as a v8 fan is like you have fred flinstone using the foots to brake!!!!!!!!!,and your are right the a/c works better
