my 87' 4runner came with the fuel tank skid plate in the trunk. the previous owner had taken it off to do some (unknown) work on the fuel tank. i dropped the tank yesterday to replace the fuel gauge sending unit and figured now would be a good time to put the skid plate back on.

it fits fine on the front of the truck (i.e. facing the front of the truck) but there is a 2" gap at the rear of the tank and it appears that if there were no gap the bolt hole do not align.

any ideas?? is there a filler plate that's missing? can anyone look at there skid plate/rear fuel tank mounting points and take a picture?

This truck came with a pile of crap in the trunk. i'll look for something that looks like that.
