Experience with Advance Auto Radiator

Be advised!

I recently purchased a replacement radiator for my 1990 Toyota Pickup Deluxe model 4wd with the 22RE engine. I purchased this truck new and have made no modifications to the original engine or engine compartment. The radiator sold by my local Advance store is a CarQuest item with an ID number of 432041.

When I installed this radiator, the hood on the truck would not close sufficiently to completely latch. The radiator it turns out sat about 1 1/2 inches higher than the radiator that was replaced. All the mounting holes lined up perfectly; the radiator design was just not right for this truck!

Rather than return it, I fab'd some brackets to lower it and make it work. I've notified Advance Auto about the problem. The store I used is in the Knoxville, TN area.

trouble with Advance

I stopped using Advance as their computer system is just wrong. I got tired of making three or five trips to get the right part. I either buy off ebay or go to AutoZone.
