Exhaust leak?

I was in the freeway going 65-70 went clicked the cruise control in and about 5 second later there was a kinda loud pop then What sounds like a serious exhaust leak. It's been a pretty hot day and my round trip was maybe 40 miles. I may be new to yodas but I've never seen or heard of a leak like that just happening all of the sudden. My throttle had been sticking all day too. Idk if that is related in any way but I'm pretty stumped. The motor is still way to warm to investigate so I figured I'd vent to you guys. Anyone ever heard of such a thing. Also it seems to be the driver side header area couldn't get a fix on the location cause my fan was blowing hot air all over and I was in the side of the freeway at the time.

Might be your EGR. Use search for that. Can't tell you any more from your description.

The down pipe is on the drivers side between #4 and #6 cylinders. Passenger side exhaust/manifold ties into/wraps around back of engine (the crossover) which ties into rear of drivers side manifold.

Plenty of info on crossover delete and handy info like that with pictures.

I dont know the 3.0 but I myself have just had a exhaust manifold to crack while driving down the highway and wasnt really accelerating or deccelrating. My guess is just age causes the manifolds to just give up once in awhile. I dont have any suggestions for your idle. RSR would know more about that then I would.
