I have a 95 Yota 4Runner and I installed a K&N Complete intake, and was wondering what would be the best option of cat-back exhaust. I came up with a Doug Thorley sytem and another option was my local custom exhaust shop. So what i was wondering is what would be the best thing, single, dual, and what brand? Thanks and please help!!

 

2.25" single pipe. Have your local exhaust shop do the work. Muffler brand varies widely on personal preference but most everyone seems to be happy with
Flowmaster or Magnaflow.


Also, i see your a new here. Your questions have been asked, covered, and discussed many, many times.
Click the yellow search button and go to the advance search option.
Type in 'exhaust' and select Titles Only, then highlight 86-95 Trucks & 4Runners. Kick back and have fun reading. Repeat the same search function using the terms flowmaster, flow master, mangnaflow, borla, dynomax, gibson, etc...

I just had an exhaust done on my truck last week...

I had them remove the cat and run 2.25" pipe from right behind the O2 sensor to a 14" Magnaflow, then 2.5" pipe out behind the rear tire with a short chrome tip on it...

I'm really liking the sound of it and it gave the truck a nice boost.

Going with a larger pipe after the muffler gives it a deeper sound. I wanted as deep as possible to not sound ricey. It is a little loud, but doesn't sound like a fart can IMO.

You're running a 2.25" pipe on a 2.2? That's a lot of pipe...

 

2 1/4 single. I have a Hooker Super comp. and its easiely the coolest sounding v6 i've heard. with intake it deffinatly pulls harder up hills. I cut two flanges off an old cat and i'm making a removable straight pipe in place of the cat. then i can just slap the cat back on when its time to smog.
