!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i need a new crank..just got a call from the machine shop..its wore down to 42 thousandths...he said if he machined it..it wouldnt be usable..
so now i need a new crank..cheapest i've found is here http://www.perfectengine.com/Product...e=CRK-TO2366CS
they also have a crank with all bearing for $155...remember..this thing comes with no warranty.....i can get a reman from oreiley's with bearing and a 90day warranty for about $200...thought about a junkyard crank..but they'd want close to $100 probably..then $80 to get it machined...so..same price..
if you guys got any help..pass it on PLEASE!!!!!!!

-261 cam, I like it, never ran the 268 but I poured through a ton of threads on here and decided on the 261... I haven't gone past 80, the engine will pull but it's a truck that feels a little washy at that speed, especially with humming 33"s
-for the crank, I'd use that Perfect kit for $155 and be done with it... or shop around your local parts stores for a crank kit... only use a junkyard one if you can get one for free and then pay for a re-grind at a shop
my 2 cents, good luck with the build

yea...my tax refund went towards a new crank..lol
got the crank today from autozone..ordering parts from engnbldr tomorrow hopefully...
i think i want the 261C too...but..idk..its a tough choice to me..the only reason im kind leaning towards the 261C is because with 31's...this truck is a DOG...not able to go above about 65-70..of course after a rebuild..it would do better(should do better)..and with cam..i should be able to sail past 70..at least thats what im hoping..haha..i also pull a 18ft boat ('97 nitro 884 SAVAGE with a 150)..its no light weight at ALL..and. if we decide not to sell it..im gonna wire up some trailer brakes on it..that way it'll help me stop better..
most of the time it just pulls a 14ft flat bottom with a 6hp outboard and TONS of gear (bass fishin stuff...bow fishin stuff like a generator..couple 1000w lights...couple batteries..haha..yea its not lightweigh)..
hoping to get a set of 31x11.50 KUHMO M/T's i found at the junkyard...they got about 65% tread left..not weather cracked at all..all of the hold air..no lumps..or busted belts..so they should be just fine..they arent but about 1 or 2 yrs old.
welll...keep an eye on my build thread for more pics...and info on how everything is goin...i need to find a job too..that way i can start shoveling some cash into this bad boy
