Ok let me start with I have a 89 4runner 22re, it was running fine, I cleaned the engine bay out it was very dirty from the trails, I washed it down, dried it with air gun, cleaned out distro cap started fine but now it wont rev it just surges, I disconnect the tps and it runs fine. I am figuring its the tps and will check that out tommorrow, but want to get input on if it could be something else and what to check for.

 

Sounds like a bad TPS.

 

thats what I figure too. just kinda crazy how washing the engine did that!

 

just an update, hooked it back up today and its working fine, must have gotten some moisture in it and caused it to have issues.
