Engine Reving

94 4x4 pickup with 228,xxx miles When stopped at a light or stop sign with my foot on brake, my engine revs up and down. Only when putting pressure on brake though. Any answers? Engine runs great was just curious why it does that and if I could do anything to fix it.

If it's just when the brake is applied you have it idling too high adjust it down and the surging should stop

Do you recommend that I adjust it or will it be fine if I leave it. It doesn't really bother me I was just worried that there was something wrong.

I'm not sure on that one I adjusted mine when it did it My problem now is it does that without the brake being applied

If adjusting the idle doesn't help, check the brake vacuum booster and check valve.

Mines an 84 and its doing the same thing. From what I've gathered we got air in our brake system and vacuum leaks. I'm putting in a new brake booster and master cylinder to see if it stops.
