I'm gonna tap on to this thread and add another question.
In a 1991 4Runner SR5 (V 6) where is the 200 mark on the gauge cluster dial for temp?
Reason I ask, my dial doesn't sit at the center. At operating temp it is a couple of millimeters to the left. Is this where 200 is? is the center 212?

As I figured...
I have been eyeing some aftermarket temperature gauges. I want one for tranny and engine coolant. But I haven't found one that is 'slick' enough.. they are all rather large and intrusive...

That's the normal position for most of these trucks. Just slightly to the left of the thermometer icon on the dash.
What temp that is exactly though, I cannot say. Basically though that's your normal operating range. If it starts to exceed that then watch out!
