Engine noise, with video

Im getting a rattle noise from truck on idle. to a newb like me i would say something with timing chain but I am also getting a whistle on acceleration. anything over idle. they both started at about the same time. I wanted opinions before i took the cover off and looked at a bunch of stuff I dont understand lol.
the whistling is very apparant in the video. the rattle not so much but you can hear it. If a different video would help let me know what i can do to make it better!

My guess is the whistle is from the idler bearing that provides belt tension for the PS pump.
OR its the PS pump.
Unless you have AC.
Pop the belt off and see if it still does it

On the clicking/tapping, i couldnt hear it.
Maybe a different vid without the wind?

OH wow.
Yeah my vote is on one of the pulleys.
I'd start by popping loose the PS pump belt, and if the noise subsides it's either the PS pump or that bearing that tightens it.

A way to check the Tchain guides is to pull the Valve cover and look down into the front of the engine with a flashlight.
If the DS guide is intact, you should be able to see part of it poking up.

Peow! your the man. took off the PS belt and no more whistle or rattle! so now my question is...how do i tell if its the idle pully, PS pump or another pulley?

I've never heard one of them whistle which is what threw me off, but the most common to go is the bearings in the tensioner pulley.

So I this worked but reading other threads should the PS pump pulley still turn with no belt on? cause it doesnt

Pretty sure it should be able to spin.. but i could be wrong.
Inspect the tensioner too, because they tend to go bad.

YES, it should turn, Joby, no doubt! It should turn but have SOME resistance. No resistance is not good, either, ....but to be honest, if it was spinning freely like a skate wheel.... well, then it would be leaking like a pig all over the place, lol.

Wow, that's a racket of noise, sorry for your gremlin dealings. Remember, the power steering system is under over 1000 POUNDS of pressure! So, it COULD be that the pulley on the pump will turn with the power of the motor, ....but just not by hand any longer. I'll find it very odd if it doesn't start smoking(the belt) and then snapping off very quick. (you don't want that to happen, trust me).

Are you saying that when you try to turn the power steering pump pulley, with the belt off, ...it wont?

after going and getting a new tensioner pulley..it didnt fit so i went back and got new bearings. put them in my old pulley and all is well. sounds like she should! Ill take a video tomorrow evening just to show the before and after. I cant believe that just worn out bearings on a tensioner pulley could cause all that ruckus. I used the old tube to the ear trivk to find out that it indeed was the tensioner pulley. the PS pulley turned by hand with belt off. I was confused as i read post that i thought said it should turn by itself when belt was off? no wonder i was confused lol. but all is good and all for 10 bucks! Id be so lost if it werent for yotatech. thank you guys so much
