well i adjusted my timing to 0 btdc with the terminal shortened and the clicking sound has somewhat disappeared but i am not sure if i should move it more?what can happen if i do move it more.so i am pretty sure that this sound is from my timing thanks.

you dont want to be at 0. it should be 5. 0 is probably very lacking in power. the spark plug needs to fire before the engine reaches tdc otherwise the piston has to start moving itself back down, because the flame takes time to burn across the cylinder.

I have this same problem and the only result of it being quiet is to put it on 0TDC. Can i move the distributor 1 tooth to compensate? to get it to 5BTDC? I have banged my head over this til i cant think

Are you sure you got the timing chain on correctly (valve timing)? From what you describe, you may be a tooth off.

Valve timing is correct, i just cant get ignition timing at 5 and not have pinging
