Engine Machinists talk

I tore the entire setup ... longblock from the 90 pu. The 22re block and head were recently rebuilt 20K miles ago ... and now i got 50 psi in cyllinders 1 and 2... so anyway ... the rebuild guys are throwin' these terms at me like the valves are sunken in ... what the hell... is that supposed to mean that the valve seats were overground? ... i'll call back today and he should have a lot more to say ... i plan on reporting these bastards that rebuilt my engine in the past to the BBB... Opinions and suggestions welcome ... what to do with the head? reseat valves? new head? ... best brand names in rings rods pistons and bearings. any suggestions for best parts to put in the rebuild talking durability and power ... trying to keep the engine as OEM as possible.

Valve might be sunken in, but those guys don't know unless the head is off the truck.
Did you get the details of what was done when "rebuilt" ? Rebuilds tend to vary quite a bit.. I see people who throw new bearings at an old crank or new rings at a bore with 200k on it and call it rebuild. Extreme example, but there are a lot of flavors inbetween. The *cost* of a quality rebuild will probably be $800-$1200. Factor in what guys need to do to make a profit and lots of shops will skimp here and there..
