Engine jerk.
#1
I came up with a new problem today with my 4Runner. It's got 222,000 miles as of today on it. I was driving it home from my moms work in hot weather. I came to a stop light, and when the light turned green, I started. As soon as the engine got about 3k RPMS (right around my shifting point/powerband), the engine started to jerk me around, where it is usually very smooth. This happened through every gear and at every stoplight. I watched my temp and oil guage and both remained normal during the time. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? It's got me very weary about driving around in it at the moment. Thanks, Eric.

I'm sure they all get tired of hearing me say this, but try looking at your fuel pressure / fuel filter / fuel pump. I had same problem when I first bought my 92 3.0 used. Bucked and jerked like a wild horse. Even broke a little of the plastic housing inside the cab around the shifter. Other times, when it didn't buck, it didn't have enough power to get out of its own way.
Replaced fuel pump and filter. No more problem.
