Exclamation Emergency guy again!!!!!!

hey guys it me again, if you don't remember I was the guy that asked about the smoke coming from my 90 4runners dipstck. You guys advised me to change the oil well I'm doing that right now and I just pulled off my oil filter and it had no oil in it. It was as clean and as new as when I first installed it. Can someone explain the cause of this perhaps my oil pump isn't working right.

often, when turning of the engine and it sits a while, the oil will drain back through the oil pump and into the pan. hate to say it but it appears to be more normal than abnormal.
the oil filter did look like it had oil in it at one time though, right?

well, don't start the truck any more until you get the oil pump checked out. oil is definitely not circulating.

Quick and dirty. Pull the coil wire, leave the oil filter off. While you squat in the passenger wheel well holding a big rag, have someone crank the engine and see if you get oil running out of the filter opening.
