Electrical Problem: Charge and Battery Light stuck on--93 truck
I bought a 1993 yota pup about 2 months ago when I got it the battery and brake light were both on. I used the "Search" function and most advice said the alternator is bad and that if both lights are on the charging system is messed up.
So far my attempts to fix the problem include, brand new battery and alternator. I also replaced the back drums and shoes as well as checked the switch for the e-brake. I have no idea what the problem is or where to go next.
There is a white wire that comes from the fuse box under the hood and it has been cut and spliced with a new wire and leads to the positive battery terminal I do not know if this is a problem?
Also my battery wire terminals have zero corrosion and I have cleaned them also. I even added an additional ground to the body.
Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
And sorry I posted this in a few different spots. Wasn't sure the best place to post and no one could help me where I first posted.

Sounds like your new alternator is not providing a charge. You possibly have bad wiring to the alternator.
Get your self a Multimeter if you don't already have one. Get a digital one for about $25. Sears and Walmart carry suitable Multimeters. It will pay for itself many times over.
Check your battery voltage with the multimeter. Then start the truck and check it again looking for a voltage increase at the battery. If there is no voltage increase, you are going to need to check for voltage a various points along the wiring to determine where your fault is.

The Alternator isn't bad I checked it. Its charging the battery for sure because the truck used to need a jump to start before and now its fine. I also checked it with a voltmeter.
I'll try repairing the wire tomorrow to see if that helps. Thanks for the advice.
