electrical issue with brake lights
The brake lights on my 90 runner don't light up when the headlights are on. When the headlights are off they work fine. The taillights light up with the headlights on, but they don't get brighter when i step on the brake. Any one know what the problem is?

I'm in a similar situation, but it is with my reverse lights. When you turn the parking and/or headlights on, the reverse light also is on steady. Turn off the lights and the reverse light only comes on when shifted into reverse. Seems wierd to me that the headlight switch somehow can dictate the reverse lights when I'd assume they 'should' be an entirely different circuit considering the reverse lights are controlled by a switch in the trans.......I think anyways. I am only familiar with domestic vehicles though so I've got some research to do on what all controls the lighting on these rigs.

I noticed now that actually all the parking lights come on front and rear and the dash cluster lights when I put it in reverse. I'm sure there is a reason for this. Does anyone know of any other toyota forums that would pertain to the ~92 to 95ish~ pickups? I try to read as much as I can here, but most threads are simply problems that never get solved and a bunch of guesses that make you wonder "which one was it?"
