EGR / Vacuum help 3VZE

So while checking my vacuum lines today I noticed the following line in the pic below wasnt connected to anything. The line comes from the peice circled. What is it for? seems to be connected to the EGR.

Also, I seem to be missing the temp sensor on the EGR...could this explain the rough acceleration / hesitation i get in second gear?

The circuled Item is a valve that lets fresh air to enter into the exhaust manifold to controll emissions, With no egr temp sensor you should be getting a MIL code.

If you have a stock hood you can look under that. It has a wiring diagram. I believe it connects to something on the VSV.

I'm trying to load two pics that show where it connects. Problem is I'm a pic dummy.

No go on the pics, I don't know how. However, it goes to the VSV closest to the charcol canister, mounted on the inside fender.

Tell me how to add a pic and I'll show you. (old guys are sad, grin)

Thanks
Harry

look under there and you should see and empty spot hiding way back there...mark and disconnect all those little hoses if you need to see better.

^Thanks man, one problem down...

Next I've got to tackle my EGR....i have no temp sensor, and no MIL..... i tried to take the EGR off today and the bolts are EXTREMELY tight, i feel like i might brake something as the whole engine twists as i try to loosen them... could i potentially break something, or should i just use more force?

Only California trucks came with the EGR temp sensor. Mine doesn't have one either. If your truck was originally sold in one of the 49 states then you won't have a sensor.

^really, surprised i haven't picked up on that yet, whenever i see pics of the 3VZE they always seem to have em....

as for the EGR...to loosen the nuts, do they turn towards the EGR valve or away from it?? Dont wanna be applying tons of force in the wrong direction...
