EGR Delete Help - Line from charcoal canister to fuel tank

I'm deleting the EGR system from my 22RE. I have already removed the charcoal canistor from the engien bay. What should I do with the hard line that is bolted to the firewall and runs back to the tank?

I already cut the hard line as close to the bottom of the firewall as I could and am thinking that I should remve it all the way back and just cap it off. Would this have any negative side-effects like exploding my tank? Or put a small air breather on the tank but I'm thinking this will allow water to get into my fuel tank during water crossings?

This is the evap system not the egr system and you should leave it in place it does serve a purpose.

I am not a fan of the EGR as well. But would leave it on so as not to start getting codes. Put a block off plate inbetween the Plenum and where the pipe bolts to it.

Here is how I do mine and no codes. Sure there are other and better ways but this works for me.

When I deleted my charcoal canister (never hooked it up after my swap), I simply cut off the line, and pinch it off really good. Then I took off the gas cap, drilled a small hole right down through the top of it, thus making a "vented" gas cap. No tank pressure build up, no gas fume smell in the cab.

I already have all the LCE block off plates installed.

If I drill a hole in the gas cap I'm worried it will allow water in during river crossings. If I remove the canister (which I already threw out lol) and just run a rubber line from the hard line to the top of the firewall with a little breather on top will this result in a strong smell of gas all the time?

I personally would not vent it near the cowl, for fear of fumes in th cab. In my car, I removed 90% of the hardline and ran a hose/breather towards the back. I never smell gas..

stick a filter on the end of what you have left of the hard line and call it good. If you think it's too low and water could get in it extend the hardline. If you have water up to the top of your engine bay you got other problems aside from water getting in your gas.

Does it still work good ? I broke my line off at the tank might just silicone it shut and drill a 1/8 inch hole in the cap

not sure if this thread still alive, but I’ve got a new 884runner and guy before has done egr delete. But exhaust fumes smell very rich, can I upload a photo to make sure it’s done all correctly? Everyone seems to have different opinions.
