Just leave your EGR on. No need to block it off, just disconnect it and put vacuum caps on everything that you've disconnected.

Theres one or two caps off the intake if my memory is correct. I can take some more pictures tomorrow if you need.

Left Side, bottom of intake chamber, 1 vacuum cap:

This might have been two hoses???? Condensed to one:

All the connectors from what was on top of valve cover:

Disconnected EGR wire:

And I do believe thats it.....

Maybe this was capped before or after, can't remember since it doesn't look like a cap I bought:

I haven't had any negative effects from it, minus the CEL staying on

I think your referring to the air rail (i'm sure there's an actual name for it)? The air rail is attached between the intake chamber and the head. You can remove the air rail if you chose too. You'd have to remove the intake chamber from the head though, so that's up to you. I removed mine just because I did all this when I had the head off.

Just fine, maybe even a little better. I did mine due to lack of money to purchase a new EGR valve, haven't had an issue yet.

What's the purpose of this hose....or the two hoses, rather....going to the distributor? And, is that and all those little hoses you blocked off w/caps on the TB and intake only for the EGR system?

BTW, that's lovely blue your motor is wearing. Is that Ralph Lauren?
