You don't really need to upgrade your harness if the factory unit is in good shape. Take the voltage at the battery (engine running) then voltage at the light outputs.. If you lose 1 or less volts, you are in good shape.

I was losing about 1.1 volts, I have been running the 80/100w hella bulbs with no issues ( i even have full power running lights).

To take the voltage at the light, you attach the voltmeter in parallel to the light, right?

You touch the prongs with your volt meter. Just slip the connection out so the prongs are just showing (still inside the light though). Then you can get your reading...

Its defantly a tight fit.

Thanks for the tip. I thought photo bucket had something to do with it.

After reading a few wiring diagrams I decided to upgrade to the 100 55W white. According to what I read there should be no problem with the stock harness like jay351 is saying.
We shall see...

I ordered a set too after seeing this thread, I have been saving for some hellas to replace the crappy plastic H4 housings that came with the truck. $40 vs $140 is quite the deal!

OK I just got mine ordered. I did the offer thing and got him to $23.51. I also upgraded to the 55/100w white bulbs. I wanted the 90/100, but I was afraid i might blind on coming traffic.

These lenses have a very low e-code cutoff, think HID style. But they are not as lame as HID's As long as they are aimed right, you could run 100w bulbs all night long without blinding anyone.

I got mine via FED EX yesterday. The delivery guy couldn't find my house so he left them at my neighbors who is out of town Luckily he put them in a plastic bag and left it on his porch
I just got done installing them in the pouring rain. They went in no problem and the housing is beefy and includes a big rubber water barrier that goes over the electrical area. The OEM didnt have that. Tonight I will get a few pics and we shall see the light!
Stay tuned

I got these H4 lights installed. I went to a Christmas party tonight up the road. It was light when left my house and I got to the party and it dragged on until around 9pm. I snuck out the back door of the place and found my way to my truck. I had sorta forgot about the lights I installed. Then I got in and turned them on and pulled out onto the road. I have to say in all honesty I have NEVER seen this little country road so lit up at night! These lights shot a huge wide beam all across the road. I actually thought I had my high beams on but I was on dim. High is spectacular! I ordered the 100 55W White and I have an LC Engineering Hi-Output Alternator - (93-95) 22R/RE Pick-Up & 4Runner alternator which helps (I think).
This is really a good deal for roughly 40 bucks I dare say I now own those totally annoying lights that blind me fromt the opposite lane late at night
below are a few pics. I don't really know what they are showing but to ME I have never seen my driveway so lit up pulling into it.
I am VERY happy with these.

Might be a dumb question but are the lamps for the 4runner the same? In other words will these work in my 94 4runner?
