ebay h4 conversion kit installed

Never knew that!!
I bought the Hella ones about 11 years ago. I had them on my 87 p/u for 7 years. The pattern is wide but not as tall as the stock sealed beam. It disperses the light better and you can put a higher amperage bulb in them. I highly recommend the H4 updated wiring harness. It makes them brighter and when you switch on the high beam, the low beam does not go out. I bought mine from NWOR years ago but Summit sells the kit and it is worth it. You can make your own kit which is not that hard to do.

OMG I LOVE this kit. I just installed them. WOW they light up the road. With the stock harness and the stock lights they are really nice. Thanks Elton for letting me know about these! I can finally drive in the rain and actually see the road!

HA HA :-) Well the good news is that it really doesn't rain much in Ellensburg.
Its funny I had an 86 Toyota back in the early 90's but after years of driving newer Chevy's its amazing what you forget and how crapy those headlights were.

My old lights looked like two small circles of yellow... I used to drive with the highbeams on, nobody could tell! Now thats how you know your lights are junk...

Sounds good, I'm in for a set. I'll probably order them with the 100w/55w upgrade.
Btw, it looks like he'll accept offers at $22 + shipping. We'll see.
edit. He countered at 23.50 and I tried to tell him that I'd do $22 and upgrade and ebay told me I had made too many offers on it and had to pay the buy it now price. I have no idea if he would have taken it.

I would make an offer he charged $15 for S&H which I thought was a little high. I think the upgraded bulbs would be even better. I plan on ordering a new wiring harness then I will go for upgrading the lights.
Also I will try and get some pics tonight. I need to "borrow the camera from work" I got some befores with that camera so I want to use the same camera to show how much better they really are!

Let me get this straight>>>
If I ordered the kit and ordered the 100 55w upgrade bulbs do I have to replace the wiring harness or can I use the stock with the upgrade bulbs
thanks

I just ordered them.
When I get them installed I will post a pic of the beam at night in the driving Pacific northwest rain.
My stock lights were so old and tired I could barely drive up the road at night. Anything has got to be better than 20yr old dog yellow stock lights!
Thanks for the thread!

Don't quote me on needing to upgrade the harness but I think you would be able to run them on the stock harness but to take full advantage of the upgraded lights a new harness would be needed.
And trust me with the stock lights and the stock harness you will be able to see very well! Last night it rained and I LOVED the new lights. you could see more then 5ft in front of the truck and I don't even have them aimed the best yet!

The kit from ebay was $40.94 shipped but it looks like he will take offers so you could get it for less, it will be a little more if you go for the upgrade lights
The wiring harness from 4crawler is $46.00 shipped (not needed for the 60/55w bulbs but a highly recommend option for anything higher.

I read the thing on 4 crawler, it sounds kind of complicated. But to me anything with wires sounds complicated. I kind of go cross eyed. Who has done the wire conversion, how was it as far as install?

I made a counter offer, IF I get it I'll do the upgrade 100/90 white lights, then if we all post up the pictures we can compare. side note, I have looked around, I cant figure out how to post up the big pictures. i only know how to do the little thumb nail pictures you have to click on.
