Drain tranny oil before pulling engine?

Drain tranny oil before pulling engine?
1994 2WD truck with W55 tranny: should I drain the oil before pulling the engine/tranny? I can't find anything on this in the service CD I have. Will the oil drain out the back when the driveshaft comes out?
