Door Open tailgate switch bypass

1988 4Runner. How do I bypass the door open tailgate switch, which is built into the driver side tailgate latch, to make the dash light go away?

I had been having regular rear window problems (dead), and an intermittent door open light (cable anchor issue).

When fixing the dead window part of the situation, it was suggested to bridge the blue and green wires on that switch.

Now I can operate the tailgate window with the key while the tailgate is open, closed, locked, or unlocked. But now the Door Open dash light is always on.

Suggestions to make the dash light go away appreciated. It must have something to do with the white wire, because that is the only one on that switch not messed with yet.

I did search the forums, and have removed and cleaned the latch.

Thanks in advance,

I'm pretty sure that the 'door open' light is actuated by a micro-switch that reads the position of the lock-unlock lever beside the rear door opening handle..

Not the switch you have already jumped in the left hand latch mechanism.

If you find and jumper that, the light should go out.
