Did i buy the wrong gears
So i am not exactly new to yotatech, i just have a problem. i have searched but cant find what i am looking for, so i bought a 92 4runner, with the 3.0 and its an auto. i was going to pull the 3rds and put them into my 1991 22re 4runner thinking that they were 4.88 insted of my stock 4.10s, but i have been thinking about it and dont think the 1992 has 4.88s, cuz the stock tire size is 225/75/15. so i dont think it has 4.88s and i just need some help trying to read these axel codes. thanks

The FACTORY 4.88 V6 diff is unique!
- Axle code G144, white pinion paint code,
- generally came in 92-95 trucks/4runners with V6, auto tranny, 31" tires, and tow package

count the ring and pinion gears and divide ring by pinion number and you should get 4.88 if they are 4.88s. otherwise, as stated, code g144 on the sticker in your door or under the hood.

is it an early 92, or late 92, the early ones with the cheap class headlights had 4.10s still, what is the gear code on the door sill, or what color paint is on the pinyon when u pull the drive shaft off?
