Just a question. I have a stock 95 4runner with 31" tires. My ? is, how deep can I drive this rig in water without doing any harm?

*if you dont have the breather extension (diff) just check the fluid if you ever have water over the diffs

 

Anything close to the bottom of your headlights. To be more exact, keep below your intake.

 

the rear axle breather is right on the housing, not sure about the front (I've heard the front has a hose up to the engine comp but not sure if that is factory) and the auto trans breather is low too. So mid axle is safe unless you extend the breathers.

 

The other concern is the EGR Valve. It isn't sealed well against sucking in water, which can make it temporarily malfunction. It rides a little higher than the air box, but don't be too suprised if you splash some on it and your engine starts runnin' bad. Happened to me a couple times, no biggy, fixes itself.

If I run this deep, I'll have water in my rig. But I do no now of my limits.

 

I've run to the bottom of my headlights and have not gotten water in my rig. Do extend the diff breathers to be sure as they are ridiculously low.

 

Not quite sure of how to do this, or even what to look for. Any pics?
