Death wobble

I have an 88 4 runner on 35" super swampers. I just got it, and I'm pretty sure the torsion bars are cranked. I've noticed when it's jacked up you can wobble the passenger side front tire and the ball joint thats connected to the idler arm lets the tie rod rotate down instead of just side to side. Is this because of a torsion bar crank, making the angle of the tie rods too much? It has a bit of a wobble on the highway and pulls right all the time too.

Thanks

First, that's not really death wobble.

Cranking tbars leads to quicker wear of the steering components. Sound like you have tie rod ends and/or idler arm that are worn out.

The reason it shakes is because of the Super Swampers, not saying you dont have another issue but if you want to run swampers get used to the shake, otherwise get rid of the swampers

The '85 I'm looking at has 37's with slightly trimmed fenders and the front axle moved forward a little bit and it clears them fine on-road.

well okay, on the road I can see that... but under any flex, no way... I would be ripping fenders off with that setup pulling into my driveway, lol
