Been LEDing my dash (1990 4r). I found a couple LEDs defectives so now I wonder which ones Im actually missing out of the idiot lights. Which ones are supposed to light up with ignition on? Im only seeing the check engine, brake light, and battery. Shouldn't all of them light up? Am I missing idiot lights? Low gas light too? If not is there anyway to test the polarity on the gas light without waiting for an empty tank?
Thanks
Proper polarity can be determined if low fuel bulb lights up when putting 12V positive on that screw and 12V neg on the 3rd contact from the right of terminal "D" as shown in the picture.
Here is a pic of mine with everything I know my truck has, except the gas light due to it was a DLX and I put the sr5 in, are you sure they are defective? As said above all bulbs need to have the correct polarity so if you haven’t tried yet the bulbs that aren’t working flip them the opposite way and see if they are just in backwards. Easy way to check the fuel light is to take the bulb your using and put it in another spot to verify it’s working and polarity is correct, take it out and put it in the low fuel light socket, that way you don’t have to wait to get to E
