Damaged valves?
Hi all, Ive got a 93 2wd 22re powered pickup, and its got about 2k since the rebuild. Im having issues getting the valves adjusted right {a friend is doing it} and as a result of him doing it quickly the valvetrain is VERY noisy . And after doing all that work Id hate to see it messed up. So my question is will driving it with noisy valves harm anything?? Its currently my only vehicle and I dont have many other options. Thanks all,
Alan

Shouldnt harm anything for the time being. After too long it will start to wear on the cam resulting in poor performance
Spend $20 on a feeler gauge and adjust them yourself, all you need is the gauge, a 12mm wrench and a flathead screwdriver its SUPER easy

I was actually thinking bout doin that, I watched him do it intently but I am sort of intimidated with the thought of it Ive spent alot of time searching on it and it doesnt sound like rocket science. Where at exactly do you use the feeler gauge once your in there? Thanks for the quick reply

Actually algranger, that was the only part I was worried bout because I couldnt quite see what he was doing with it. He said he set them at .8/.12 but if so he obviously messed something up...... its WAY loud
