Custom Speedo

the electric speedos from autometer can be used if you connect a speed sensor to the cable or the speedo drive on the trans. You could use a speed sensor from a toyota model that just plugs in place where the cable hooks up. Of course you would have to wire it up to work.

Did anything ever come of this? I'm starting the custom dash in my hooptie next week probably and have a brand new mechanical speedo from autometer that's been collecting dust in my garage for years that I'd like to use. The cable won't work though... I'm curious if there's an adaptor or something available or am I SOL and have to run one of the mechanical-elctro converter deals from like Marlincrawler and then buy a digital speedo? I was hoping to keep this cheap since I already have a autometer speedo and tach and just picked up a cheap 3 piece set of sunpro accessory guages... I also bought some LED's to use as simple indicators for my check engine, turn signals and high beam indicator.
