Cruise Control Shock sensor?

Hi All,

I have a '94 SR5 V6 5-spd 4x4 Pickup and my cruise control is driving me NUTS! I got a bit of a vibration issue which I have yet to diagnose. My Cruise Control system seems to have a shock sensor - this thing is supposed to kill the CC if you get into an accident. Mine however, kills the CC if I run over a fly. Where is this sensor located? Is there a way to adjust sencitivity? If not, I would just rather bypass it for now.

Never heard of a shock sensor for the CC

Its probably one of the switches:

Parking Brake Switch
When the parking brake lever is pulled, the parking brake switch turned ON Sends a cancellation signal (ground voltage) to terminal 14 of the ECU.

Clutch Switch (M/T)
When the clutch pedal is depressed, the clutch switch is turned ON sends a cancellation signal
(ground voltage) to terminal 13 of the ECU.

Stop Light Switch
When the brake pedal is depressed, the SW B of stop light switch is turned OFF the release
valve (in actuator) is opened, and the SW A of stop light switch is turned ON sends a cancel–
lation signal to terminal 17 of the ECU.

This sounds like a switch issue as MtGoat says, but the next time this happens, look at the speedometer. Did it drop to zero, then spring back up? IF you have the all-electronic speedometer (no speedometer cable), the hall-effect sensor stuck into the transfer case could be going bad. This provides the speed signal, which drives the cruise. They seem to fail incrementally; dropping out for a second, then 5 seconds, then minutes.
