Cruise Control Help

The cruise control on my 93 Pickup V6 doesn't seem to hold speed that well. It holds 55-60 mph but only on flat road. It will not hold 70-75 mph. I adjusted the cable but doesn't seem to help.

Anyone has this symptom? Thinking about replacing the unit from the junk, but not sure it thats the problem.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Probably the vacuum diaphragm thingy. I am not sure, but I know in older cars with a vacuum assisted cruise once the diaphragm wears out, it no worky.

Subscribing.....my 87 does this too - basically it's fine unless I'm going up a long hill - it will "kick out" and stop.

Curious if it's an easy fix, this diaphragm....

Are you referring to the actuator or cruise control unit?
