crazy spedometer question/ headlamp broken harness?

i got 2 questions, and i didnt really wanna put them in 2 threads lol.

okay on my 1995 4runner, when its cold out, my spedometer whines... it bounces all over the place and sucks! i live in cali and it doesnt get too cold, but in the morning, it does it sometimes, and its getting annoying

we took it to a mechanic, he changed the spedo cable, but the problem was still there.....

okay, my next question...

my headlight points down. the whole thing. looks ghetto when i drive. the lamp is in place, just feels like a spring or something is missing to hold it up.

what can i do?

check your lamp assembly housing, there should be 2 screws on each one, one on top and one on the side. thats for adjustment. sounds like the top one is VERY loose, or gone. heres how it works.. top one is for up and down, side one is, you guessed it, side to side.

. the circles are where my screws are. the top one is in the same place on either light. on the driver side the side screw is on the left side of the lamp. on the passenger side the side screw is on the right.

Yeah on that year you have to either take off the grill or do like I did and drill a small hole just big enough for a screw driver in the grill. I'll try and find a pic for ya.

You have to take a small screw driver to those plastic clips, but be prepared to replace about half of them. There are about 8-10 of them and they break pretty easy. The dealer has them for about $1 each IIRC. I guess you don't want to drill your grill huh? To hillbilly for ya?

On the '95, you likely have an electronic speedometer. Look back at the transfer case and see if there are wires coming from it or a screwed in cable.

On the headlights, you may be missing the springs, I found some at the hardware store to firm up my headlights:
