The diffs have a breather at the top just like the tranny & transfer case. That nipple is different from the breather--the breather is right next to the shifter.

I'm having an odd thing happen; when I rev the engine to just over 4000 rpm & shift, I get a "buzzy" feeling in the clutch pedal & a simultaneous buzzing sound from what sounds like the drivers side in front of the firewall. It doesn't happen escept when I have the clutch pushed in, which leads me to believe it is the throwout bearing. But it's a MarlinCrawler & brand new, so I don't think that's it. Is there something about the clutch linkage that could cause a similar vibration?

This will probably be my last post in this thread. I drove the truck from southern MD to near Harrisburg, PA, this morning to pick up a lawn tractor and came back with 1000 lbs of tractor in the back end! It ran great. I even shot a short video of hitting 90 mph on level ground with the tractor in the back. I could've done more, but didn't want to push my luck. Here's pics/video:
Squattin' a little, eh?
I managed to rub a little bit with the load! Where are those helper coilovers?!?
And here's the load:

I just wanted to say a great big Thank You to everyone who helped me out on this project. At times I thought it would never end, but now it's done & lil' red is running great again! I hope folks will be able to use my trials & tribulations to their advantage should they ever decide to dig into their Yota. if nothing else, it has been an entertaining story!
Special thanks to Kat (justinking060310), Bumpin' Yota, thook, MarlinCrawler, engnbldr, and WabFab!!

Sounds good, I still have the 95 Taurus I bought to drive during my swap. It has a little coolant leak again though. I'm always fixing something on it but at least the headgaskets are holding. It has cast iron heads (a good match for a cast iron block IMHO) and a timing chain so it may go for a long time. It gets 30 mpg on the highway with a tailwind LOL. Plus it may be a classic in 50 years

FYI to all: I've found an engine to replace the one currently in my truck; refer to the followup thread:

I have indications of water in the oil, but little, if any loss of coolant, or oil in radiator. I sent my oil to Blackstone Labs for analysis and they confirmed glycol in the oil and metals associated with bearing wear. Given that the motor has close to 180K mi. on it and the history of bearing wear with the motor, I decided to do a rebuild on the motor. I can't see going to this level of work and not taking care of old main seal or having premature failure because I didn't mill the block. While I can't afford to swap to another motor, I want to rebuild it prior to crankshaft or other damage.
I was very pleased with the service that Blackstone provided and the insight the test gave me. For a little over 20 bucks, I feel fairly confident that now is a good time to pull my motor...
IMHO

That's funny! I always wanted one of the Taurus SHOs with the Yamaha 5 valve/cylinder engine. Kickass engine.
