Crankcase filled with fuel!!

Recently bought an 87' 22R 4WD. As far as I can tell, most everything is stock, with a few gypsy fixes here and there. When I bought the truck, it drove fine for about a week, and then I was driving out to a friend's acreage, and the truck stalled. Took a few tries, but I got it started again. When I reached his acreage, it stalled again as I slowed and turned down his lane. This time I jumped out an popped the hood, only to find a 1/4 inch fuel-fall draining from my air box. Everything was smoking, and hot, so I thought it would be better to let it cool down, and then restart it, and look for the leak while idling. After cool down, wouldn't start...Wouldn't even turn over. Hot fuel had flowed down and into my starter, and melted the casing on my windings. New starter put in. Fired it up. No leaks. Drove for a week, and the problem occurred again. Checked fuel lines, fuel pressure, rebuilt carb. Float operating correctly, needle valve operating correctly. Last time I fired it up, i had the top off my air box, and I had a 1" diameter fuel fountain shoot out the top of the carb. Looked around a little, and discovered my crankcase was right full of fuel and oil. Checked vacuum lines, and discovered they were a bit m'goo. Put them back to stock. Drained the oil (16L of fluids). Replaced the filter. Started the truck, and she ran great, though a bit rich. Was about to take it for a test drive, and it started to sputter. Shut it down, checked my crankcase...Whoopee, full of fuel again. Any ideas, or help would be greatly appreciated!

If the diaphragm on your fuel pump has a hole fuel can leak into the crankcase, assuming yours has a mechanical pump.

The grille is from and 89 scuba. It's actually flexes into place because the body lines are different. Just needed something there for the time being, and happened to have an 89 body with a 22r that i was harvesting engine parts from. Once I get the engine doin what it's supposed to, then I'll worry about the rest.

Have a got a mechanical fuel pump TFE. Wouldn't a hole affect my fuel pressure pumped to the carb? That's running about 3.5-4.5. Thanks for the tip though. Going to get another fuel pump.

3.5-4.5 seems kinda low for a factory fuel pump and an aisin carb. especially if your not running a regulator. mine was getting about 6-7psi before i put my weber and regulator on.

No regulator. I was told elsewhere that my pump should not be running above 6psi. I guess I'll find out when I replace the pump this afternoon. I've got a second 22r that will get rebuilt, and bored out here in the next year or so. Then I'll be changing my carb, and possibly a few other things as well.
