Hi there,

1.Is there any difference between the IFS a arms from 86-95? I have an '87 4runner that I installed poly bushings on the a arms and the ride is way too stiff. Planning to pick up a set of a arms, install oem rubber bushings and have them ready to drop in.

2. Anyone order a Toyota remanufactured A/C compressor? When I was looking at the compressor online, on the backside of the housing, there is a a sticker that says R-12 and ND oil 6. Anyone have any info on this? R12 was swapped out years ago. Toyota even put out service bulletins on doing r134a conversions. I'm confused why a "new" reman compressor would be setup for the older refrigerant that is no longer available.

I'm no expert (unless having done the r12 to r134a conversion somehow so qualifies me https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-r134a-284801/), but I don't think there is any compressor "setup" for r12 vs. r134a. My guess is that they have been selling reman compressors since back in the 80s and just kept the same pictures. (r12 was used right up to the end of 1993) It would be fun if the same sticker showed up on one of today's sales.

The compressor I used was pre-lubricated. In the "old days" mineral oil was used, and today PAG45 is the lubricant of choice. But so far as I can tell, ND-Oil 8 IS PAG45. So even if it showed up with the same sticker, you should be okay to use it.

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you're saying. I just don't want to buy a "new" compressor and have to drain the oil out of it.
