Coolant leak...Oring or just RTV *pic*

Hey ladies and gentt....i noticed my truck just started to leak a bit of coolant...ive searched and searched, couldn't find neither the name or if there was an Oring or just RTV....well its leaking from the seal...looks like its already been taken off.

id take it off...but if theres an oring...im shrt out of luck.. come on boys...someones gotta know

pssh...batterys are for losers...i run the truck off the alt...it runs better that way...plus it saved me 5 lbs... nah im kidding, i just found a random picture of a 3veeeezeeeeeeee off the net..(not mine)

o-ring? isn't there a gasket, not an o-ring? I can't remember though, i could be wrong. If it's leaking from the hose, rpl the hose & re-finish the fitting. if it's the fitting to the lower fitting, rpl the gasket/o-ring. if you feel cheap & don't wanna spend money, sure rtv it up.. clean the surfaces well though.

....orrr... do a motor swap, the easier fix.

the place where the hose meets metal is fine, just the metal touchin metal is leakin a bit...if theres a gasket...then sure id replace it, but gotta wait till monday :thumbdown:

There is no gasket or o-ring in that location. You will obviously have to drain some of the coolant to remove it. Just clean out the groove on the underside of the top piece as well as the other mating surface. Apply RTV, refill the coolant and you're set.

X2. No gasket. A bit of scraping, and a new bead of FIPG and you'll be good to go.
