Cold weather issues!!!

well here in Tn we've had some pretty crappy weather and today I was driving around and my 87 pickup with a 22r started bucking and when slowing down would try to die. It didnt do it when the engine was cold but after it warmed up. If I give it a quick rev itll die sometimes and I got it to backfire once. After it dies I have no problem starting back up like if I'm braking all I have to do is start it again and give it a little gas until I get going again. I have checked the AAP and there was no fuel in the vacuum line. I read that it could be the Idle cut solenoid. Just looking for ideas on what to try. I just put on new plugs, wires, rotor, and coil about a month ago. talked to a mechanic and he said it might be carb icing sense it is barley in the 20s and we had almost 90% humidity today dont know anything about it but just add it to the pile of reasons.

Are you still using the stock air cleaner ??

I have seen so many aftermarket air cleaners freeze in conditions like you describe.

First thing I thought of is carb ice. The right conditions for it. And as Wyo said aftermarkets can be prone to do that.

If there is no heat going to the air cleaner and now it's fine, I would say you had carb. ice.
