code 52 and 51 please help

1989, pickup, v6, manual, 4x4, 190xxx, on 33s if that matters, besides that all stock. okay so before i get blasted i have done my research and i concluded with knock sensor being replace and the 51 code isn't a big deal right, oem ks wire and denzo knock sensor is what i put in and put the timing to 10 degrees. engine sounds and runs normal and has no abnormal noise, but the cel (code 52) makes it so slow it ridiculous, suggestions and where to start? fyi i am mechanically inclined so any help can and will be appreciated.

First, keep in mind that cod 52 has NOTHING to do with whether the engine is knocking or not. Timing, abnormal sounds, contribute nothing to the diagnosis.

The most common cause of code 52 is a break or short in the wire or the shield. Since you have a new pigtail, I'd start by ohming out the sensor wire and the shield back to the ECU.

This post https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...l#post52269798 claims that replacing the capacitors in the ECU (!!) fixed the problem for that poster.
