Code 11 help
I need help diagnosing this code for the TPS. Its on a 1986 4X4 with a 22RE. Help with schematics or what wires to test to see whether its the TPS, TPS circuit or ECU would be nice. Thanks

the code 11 means that the TPS is not signalling IDL to the ECU when the diagnostic connector is jumpered. this could be caused by the throttle not closing completely or not adjusted properly, or by the TPS not adjusted properly or malfunctioning, or by a fault in the wiring or ECU.
so first, you'll need to verify the throttle is closing all the way and that the accelerator cable isn't hanging up or anything like that which would cause it to stick. you might also want to spray some cleaner into the throttle body itself in case there is any gunk inside causing the plate to stick. once you've done that, clear your code by disconnecting the EFI fuse for a minute or so then see if the code returns. if it does, then check the TPS per the instructions here: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml
