Where is the CO Relay located on 1988 Toyota pickup?

I needs to be replaced and im not sure where it is located or how it looks?

 

Short answer: Use the Search Tool! Many threads on how it works and how to test it.

even shorter answer: beside glove box, under the panel

 

In other words, right side kick panel, right above the ECU. The computer. You can just take the bolts off the ECU, and move it out of the way without disconnecting the ECU. Just let it hang on it's cables. The COR is right above it.
One bolt holding it in, easy to get to.
One cable plugged into it. Once it's not attached to the side any more, the cable is easy to get to.

It was about $50.00 or so at the local dealership. Took a while to describe what it was and where it was so they could find it. Kinda sad for a dealership, really.

And how do you know it needs to be replaced if you haven't even found it?

 

Yeah, I find it easier to look up the part number first, then I give the counterman the vin so they can make sure I got the right application.

 

I was wondering that myself.

Personally, I think it quite unlikely that you can determine your COR is bad without testing it out-of-circuit. Yeah, they're only $105 https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/T...591014020.html , but if it's not broken, replacing it won't fix anything.
