clutch plate

which direction do you install the clutch plate....springs toward tranny or springs toward engine?

it should be marked on the clutch plate. are you putting in a new or old one? do not quote me on this but if i remember right, it is the flatter side to the flywheel.

install the springs so they are towards the transmission

Step away from the car and take a break..

I didn't do that once at 3am working on a VW golf... roasted a clutch cover plate (and yes - I had to take it apart again)
