Im doing my first clutch job by following in my shop manual. In the book it says to remove the Clutch Slave cylinder by just unbolting it and leaving the line connected, what i cant firgure out is how to seperate the cylinder from my transmission theres a plunger or something still holding it to my tranny...

any help would be appreciated....

The plunger is part of the slave cyl, and isn't actually attached to the clutch fork. The fork has a small divot/dent/recess that slave cyl shaft just sits in.

Unbolt the two bolts on the bell housing, and the slave will(should) just swing away. You may have to "pop" the plunger out of the fork if it's stuck in.

Take your time with it. Be very careful to "press" the new pilot bearing into the crankshaft all the way. Also, be careful when centering the clutch as it seems simple, but does need to be accurate. Don't skip on the torque wrinch. Take care of the hydraulic lines. My clutch install was one of the most rewarding things that I have done, thought I did an auto to manual swap at the same time.

what else can you replace as far as bushings,seals,gaskets,ect while the tranny is out?Also are the sincroes a real hard thing to do in a tranny?

I did mine this weekend best thing I have done so far, my truck feels new again.
at the same time I replaced the rear main seal oil pan gasket and fuel filter.
also either replace or get your flywheel resurfaced best 35$ bucks spent.

what about in the tranny shifter seat bushing or somthing for a slopy shifter

access to the synchros requires the tranny to be openned up. not hard to do, but not something for a novice to attempt alone.

Consider taking it to a tranny shop now that it's out. Just the fact that they don't have to pull it or reinstall it will save you some serious bank.
There's a shop in austin that does a flat fee rebuild for $250 + parts.

Definitely do that. You can get a heavy-duty one from Marlin Crawler.

Putting in new syncros is basically a tranny rebuild.

can eneyone give me a part # for the shifter bushing or a real name and is that the same as the seat?
